Shaman Asana!
Join Nancy
McCaochan on a journey of awakening and healing through
the chakras on six Saturdays this spring and summer.
Saturday August
23rd
1:15pm - 4:00pm
"Refining the Vision"
We
lead very busy, distracted lives. Yoga brings us peace
through breath and posture so that we can know ourselves to be
more than our roles and responsibilities. Shamanism, a
healing modality that comes to us from hunter-gatherer
cultures, additionally shows us that the world around us is
more that cars, computers, and shopping malls.
Shamanasana combines
shamanic and yogic techniques to transform our awareness of
ourselves and our place in the universe. Sessions
combine native ritual, yoga postures, sacred hand gestures,
visualization, chanting, and the drum to transcend our
conditioning.
This session focuses on the ajna (3rd eye) center and on the
crown of the head to explore the ways in which we use symbols
and archetypes to give meaning to the presence of the Divine.
Cost: $30

"Downward Dog
and the Doshas"
An
Eischens Yoga Workshop
with Lynn Shuck, E-RYT
Saturday, August 9th 1:30pm - 4:00pm
The
doshas are an Ayurvedic tool that can can be a window into our
different constitutions. Ayurvda is an ancient science
of health developed 5000 years ago that is still used today by
health practitioners.
Eischens
Yoga uses Ayurveda as a basis for teaching asana and
understanding why the postures affect us all differently.
Explore
your Downward Dog and learn how the doshas are physically
reflected in the muscles, the spine and the joints. With
individual feedback, increase the dynamic effects of Downward
Dog and feel how your energy responds to a balanced pose.
Cost:
$25 in advance
$30 at the door
