Namaste is holding a special donation yoga class on Saturday April 25th to benefit HAVEN, Oakland County’s only domestic violence shelter. One of our shala graduates, Deb Chimack, suggested that we hold a class that coincided with April’s "Take Back the Night" initiative. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and “Take Back the Night” is a special event that allows survivors to band together and speak out. Kelly Jacobs will be teaching Namaste’s all-levels class.
Namaste’s owner, Linda Makowski, says,"I feel strongly about this specific initiative. These kinds of services did not exist when I was a kid in the 50's & 60's, and I know many who could have used them. Having worked at plenty of homeless shelters during my social work years, I know there is still plenty of need.”
This all-levels yoga class will be held from 4pm to 5pm on Saturday, April 25th. Suggested donation of $10+. All proceeds will go to benefit HAVEN. Please consider attending and donating to this worthwhile cause.
